What does Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) mean?
Electronic Data Interchange or EDI refers to the exchange of electronic business processes, either internally within departments or locations, or externally between business partners and customers. The main aim of EDI is to achieve a very high level of process automation through integrated business processes.
EDI is used for numerous internal and external processes, such as delivery orders to logistics service providers, status reports on shipments, master data management, provision of article information, processing of billing documents, processing of payment procedures, etc. – There are virtually no limits to where EDI can be used.
